Touring Team Field Allocation Policy

From May through August, the Vancouver Ultimate League has a limited number of fields available for practice use on Monday through Friday nights and Sunday days. We will endeavour to accommodate teamsÕ wishes, but flexibility is key. It is possible that the number of requests we receive will overwhelm our ability to provide fields.

Please note that, along with many of the regular VUL fields, some fields are in Burnaby, and some are smaller single fields.  As well, the needs of the VULS or the Parks Board may cause shifting of fields for practice fields or for summer league fields.  The League Coordinator will provide a schedule for a four-week period in the same manner that he does for league teams.

Teams are asked to put up $300, as a performance bond, which will be returned to you at the end of the year, provided your team meets its obligations.  This money will be a guarantee against:

á          Teams playing on closed fields, or continuing play on a user-discretion field that is at risk of damage.

á          Teams booking practice space and not showing up.

á          Teams that do not meet the other basic requirements as outlined in the form.

If demand for fields should exceed the leagueÕs available supply, other factors may be considered in the allocation of fields, including such things as length of time the teamÕs been around, past performance, volunteerism in the league, willingness to coach clinics, etc.

Finally, teams are entitled to a private forum on the VUL website to facilitate team communications. This will require that all players be waivered members of the league.

Teams wishing to make a request for practice space must complete the application form (Word doc) and email it to the Executive Director no later than April 4, 2008.
